A few years ago a patient of mine could not kick a bad bout of bronchitis. After two doses of antibiotics he was still exhausted and could not take a full deep breath without straining. He also had a bad case of dermatitis, or inflammation of the skin.

My patient and his doctor thought the skin condition and the bronchitis were not related. I suspected that they were.

We are exposed to so many toxic chemicals every day, in the air we breathe, the food we eat and the products we use. If your skin is not radiant, soft, and supple, your immune system is overloaded and in distress and the other organs of elimination, like your lungs, are not able to function at their best. The acupuncture treatment protocol I prescribed for my bronchitis patient included replacing his over-the-counter soap, shaving cream, shampoo and clothes soap with organic, non-toxic products.

Within 3 weeks of replacing his toxic products his dermatitis cleared and the bronchitis disappeared.
